JOURNEY:
noun
a long and often difficult process of personal change and development
Before I was a maker, I spent over a decade in Law Enforcement, learning firsthand what kind of gear you can count on when things go sideways. I quickly understood that how you carry a tool was just as important—if not more so—than what you carried. That mindset shaped my views on preparedness, faith in my gear, and design.
KH Knifeworks was born from that edge: from those lived experiences where gear couldn't fail, and instinct mattered. It was less about building blades and more about answering a deeper instinct—to create something real, durable, and personal. Not art to hang, but tools to carry.
The drive to build, modify, and search for better ways of doing things has been a part of me, even from a young age. And now that I am older, I see it as a reflection of those who came before me and shaped me as a man. KH Knifeworks is the natural evolution of that drive—a vehicle for translating vision into reality.
Whether it was customizing gear in the field or learning the subtleties of carrying a blade and its implementation, this journey has always been about more than metal and edges. It’s about trust, intent, and honoring the balance between simplicity and performance.
My time in Law Enforcement helped shape a lot of that thinking, but this brand ultimately is built on a commitment to thoughtful design, intentional function, and the honest grit of handcrafting each piece myself.
KH Knifeworks is about carrying something that carries meaning. Every knife I make is crafted for daily carry—blades that age with you, scar with you, and stay with you through it all. These are not mirror-polished ornaments. They’re tools designed to live in the real world, shaped by calloused hands and Alaska’s unforgiving beauty.
I only produce a few knives a year. Not for exclusivity, but because it takes time to make something worthy of trust. This work demands patience, precision, and purpose.
A KH Knifeworks blade is a companion. Its edge will age. Its surface will change. But its mission stays sharp: to serve you, protect you, and tell your story.
Together with my wife and daughter, I continue to live and build in the ruggedness that is Alaska. That same landscape is reflected in every grind, every finish, every blade.
